ISO 15919
La norma ISO 15919 "Transliteración de Devanagari i escritures índicas relacionades en caràcters llatins" és una de la série de normes internacionals establides per a la romanización per l'Organisació Internacional de Normalisació.
Va ser publicada en 2001 i usa diacrítics per a mapear el conjunt molt més gran de consonante i vocals en escritures bráhmicas a l'escritura llatina.

Relació en atres sistemes
[editar | editar còdic]ISO 15919 és una norma internacional sobre la romanización de moltes escritures bráhmicas, que va ser acordada en 2001 per una ret d'instituts nacionals de normalisació de 157 països. No obstant, el sistema de transliteración de Hunter és el "sistema nacional de romanización en Índia" i un grup d'experts de les Nacions Unides varen senyalar sobre la norma ISO 15919 que "no existix evidència de l'us del sistema ni en Índia ni en productes cartogràfics internacionals".[1][2][3]
Una atra norma, sobre els Sistemes de Romanización de Noms Geogràfics de les Nacions Unides (UNRSGN), va ser desenrollada pel Grup d'Experts de Noms Geogràfics de les Nacions Unides (UNGEGN)[4] i cobrix moltes escritures bráhmicas.
La romanización ALA-LC va ser aprovada per la Biblioteca del Congrés d'Estats Units i l'Associació de Biblioteques d'Estats Units i és un estàndart nortamericà. l'Alfabet Internacional de Transliteración Sánscrita (IAST) no és un estàndart (ya que no existix cap especificació per a ell) sino una convenció desenrollada en Europa per a la transliteraació del sánscrito en lloc de la transcripció de les escritures bráhmicas.
Com a diferència notable, abdós estàndarts internacionals, ISO 15919 i UNRSGN[5] transliteran l'anusvara com ṁ, mentres que ALA-LC i IAST usen ṃ. No obstant, ISO 15919 proporciona una guia per a eliminar l'ambigüitat entre vàries situacions anusvara (com a nasalización labials o dentals), que es descriuen en la taula que ve a continuació.
