P̃
La P en virgulilla (mayúscula: P̃, minúscula: p̃) és una P llatina en una virgulilla. S'usa o es va usar com grafema en alguns idiomes de Vanuatu, com l'efate septentrioal i meridional i el namakura per a representar el sò [k͡p]. També s'usa en l'idioma yanesha, en a on representa /kʲ/.
La lletra va ser introduïda per misionero i ha estat en us durant més de cent anys.
En bislama, la llengua franca de Vanuatu, la P en tilde es diu snekpi, que significa "P serp".
En anglés antic, s'usava com una contracció del centau, com en ⋅cxx⋅ p̃.[1]
Unicode
[editar | editar còdic]Unicode codifica p̃ en una marca diacrítica combinada (O+0303 COMBINING TILDE), en lloc d'un caràcter precompuesto. Com a tal, la tilde pugues no alinear-se correctament en algunes fonts i sistemes.
