John Gilbert Baker

John Gilbert Baker

John Gilbert Baker (1834, Guisborough, Yorkshire - 1920, Kew) va ser un botànic anglés. Va treballar en la biblioteca i herbario dels Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew entre 1866 a 1899, i va ser conservador del Herbario. Va escriure llibres de text sobre molts grups vegetals, incloent Amaryllidaceae, Bromeliaceae, Iridaceae, liaceae, i falagueras. Els seus llibres inclouen Flora de Mauritània i de les Seychelles (1877), i Manual de les Irideae (1892). És el pare del botànic Edmund Gilbert Baker.
