Ornithorhynchus és un gènero de mamífers monotremes de la família dels ornitorrínquits.[1]
Inclou únicament una espècie actual, l'ornitorrinc (Ornithorhynchus anatinus), encara que, també se coneix atra espècie fòssil, datada entre el Pliocé tardà i el Pleistocé tardà, Ornithorhynchus maximus.
