Cyathopharynx furcifer és una espècie de peixos de la família Cichlidae en el orde Perciformes. És l'única espècie del gènero.

Morfologia

Els machos poden aplegar alcançar els 21 cm de llongitut total.

Depredadors

És depredado per Perissodus microlepis i Plecodus straeleni.

Hàbitat

Viu en zones de clima tropical entre 24 °C-26 °C de temperatura.

Distribució geogràfica

Es troben en Àfrica: és una espècie de peixos endèmica del llac Tanganika.
