Poranthera
Poranthera és un gènero de plantes en flors pertanyent a la família Phyllanthaceae. Conté 15 espècies originàries d'Austràlia i Nova Zelanda.
Poranthera consistix en herbes monoiques o rara volta, dioiques anuals o perennes.
Etimologia
El nom és una paraula composta, derivada del grec poros, poro, i la paraula latina anthera antera.[1]
Evolució, filogenia i taxonomia
Poranthera alpina havia segut colocada en el gènero monotípic Oreoporanthera per alguns autors, pero en 2007, anàlisis filogenético del seu ADN varen mostrar que esta espècie està inclosa en Poranthera .[2] Vàries espècies contenen l'alcaloide poranterina .[3]
