El Triàsic (o Trias) és el primer periodo geològic del Mesozoic; va començar fa 251,0 ± 0,4 millons d'anys i va acabar fa 199,6 ± 0,6 millons d'anys.[1] El Triàsic seguix al Permià i precedix al Juràssic.
Tant el principi com el seu final estan marcats per grans extincions. L'extinció que va cloure el Triàsic ha segut datada en més precisió recentment, pero com en molts dels periodos geològics més antics, les capes rocoses que en definixen el principi i el final estan ben identificades, pero les dates exactes són incertes per uns quants millons d'anys.
