Robert Ignatius Burns, conegut per R.I. Burns (San Francisco, Califòrnia, Estats Units, 1921 - Los Gatos, Califòrnia, Estats Units, 22 de novembre de 2008), fon un religiós i historiador, migevaliste, jesuïta nortamericà. Realisar estudis sobre la figura de Jaume I el Conquistador.
Biografia
R.I. Burns naixqué en la ciutat nortamericana de San Francisco en l'any 1921. Fon un historiador migevaliste i jesuïta, fon doctor en Història per les universitats de Friburc i Johns Hopkins. Fon també professor de l'Universitat de San Francisco entre 1958 i 1976, per a més tart passar a l'Universitat de Califòrnia. Estudiós de la figura del monarca Jaume I el Conquistador, fallí en la ciutat nortamericana de Los Gatos (Califòrnia) el 22 de novembre de l'any 2008.
