Death and taxes
Death and taxes (Mort i imposts en espanyol) és una expressió anglesa que afirma que les dos úniques coses inevitables en la vida són la mort i els imposts. Fa referència a la següent cita del polític i inventor nortamericà Benjamin Franklin:
| Our new Constitution is now established, and has an appearance that promises permanency; but in this world nothing ca be said to be certain, except death and taxes. | Nostra nova Constitució ya està en funcions i tot sembla prometre que durarà; pero en este món no hi ha res segur llevat la mort i els imposts. |

Encara que Franklin no va ser el primer en utilisar esta expressió, el seu és l'eixemple més famós del seu us, sobretot en els Estats Units.[2] També apareix en una llínea de The Political History of the Devil (1726) de Daniel Defoe i en l'obra de teatre The Cobbler of Preston (1716) de Christopher Bullock, la qual és la primera aparició coneguda.[3][4]
