English: Dorsal side of a Natterjack Toad (Epidalea (Bufo) calamita); male specimen.
Deutsch: Rückenansicht einer Kreuzkröte (Epidalea (Bufo) calamita); Männchen. Das Tier sitzt geduckt in einer Sandmulde. Gut zu erkennen ist das charakteristische Zeichnungsmuster des Rückens mit der gelben Längslinie, einigen dunkelroten Warzen und hellrötlichen Ohrdrüsen. Die Augen wirken schwarz, weil die Pupillen gerade weit offen sind (sonst wäre ist eine gelbliche Iris zu erkennen). |
