El caduceo és el símbol del comerç.
Es denomina comerç a l'activitat socioeconòmica consistent en l'intercanvi d'alguns materials que siguen lliures en el mercat de compra i venda de bens i servicis, siga per al seu us, per a la seua venda o la seua transformació. És el canvi o transacció d'alguna cosa a canvi d'una atra cosa d'igual valor.
Per activitats comercials o industrials entenem tant intercanvi de bens o de servicis que s'efectuen a través d'un comerciant o un mercader.
El comerciant és la persona física o jurídica que es dedica al comerç en forma habitual, com les societats mercantils. També s'usa la paraula comerç per a referir-se a un establiment comercial o tenda.
