El seu nom Nesut-biti fon Sened i està constatat en les [[Llista de Saqqara|llistes de Saqqara]], en les llistes del temple de Seti I en [[Llista d'Abidos|Abidos]] i en el [[papir de Torí]] en poca variació (Senedi, Sened, Sendji). El seu nom, es creu que es traduïx per 'el que fa por'. El nom grec que li donà [[Manethó]] és Sethenes.<br />

El seu nom nestu-biti consta també en el papir de Berlín, en una estatuilla de [[bronze]] (S-n-d), en les galeries de la tomba de [[Ninetjer]] i en alguna atra [[mastaba]], i en el temple funerari de [[Khaefra]] en Gizeh. <br />

Com només s'ha trobat el seu nom en el Baix Egipte, se supon que Weneg i Sened foren successors de Ninetjer en esta part (en la possibilitat d'un faraó nomenat [[Za]], abans o despuix).<br />

El seu regnat no degué de ser molt llarc, entre 4 i 10 anys, segons pensen els erudits, pero Manethó, diu que va regnar 41 anys.<br />

Segons el papir de Torí, va morir als 70 anys. La tomba de Sened no s'ha trobat. Sembla que podria estar en les galeries de l'oest del complex funerari de Djoser en Saqqara. En les referències de l'encarregat del seu cult, se suggerix que està en Saqqara. En cas d'haver regnat 40 anys, es tractaria d'un gran complex que ya hauria segut descobert, aixina com la seua tomba, per lo que deu ser de reduïdes dimensions, per lo que va tindre que ser un regnat curt.<br />

Els seus successors no estan massa clars, ya que les tres fonts no es posen d'acort. El més probable és [[Nubnefer]].<br />
